About Us: Carnforth Karate Club The club was established in 2008. The instructor is Chris Haggan who was been practising traditional karate since 1988, and teaching since 1992. He is also the founder of the Traditional Wado-Ryu Union. The club also has a great female instructor, Rolande Urwin, with traditional values and experience in other traditional martial arts also. The club caters for both senior and junior members from the age 7yrs upwards and covers both Lancashire and Cumbria. The club is part of the newly formed Traditional Wado-Ryu Union and has strong links with the IABC. With links to other local martial arts clubs and also clubs in Ireland. The aim of the club is promote the traditional values of martial art, and is also a good way of meeting new people and getting fit at the same time as learning self defence. It is also a good way of people getting involved in non main stream sport. The club aims to provide a a high level of tuition at a price that people can afford.
The home of the club is Carnforth Civic Hall, North Road, Carnforth.
